Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 September 2026
Uniko (“Uniko”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Happy Operators [legal entity type, e.g. S.L.], with registered address at [registered address] (“Happy Operators”). This policy explains what personal data we collect through playuniko.com (the “Service”), why, and what rights you have over it.
1. Data we collect
Account data. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address and, if you choose to sign in with Google, basic profile information from Google. We store your display name, plan (free/premium), and whether you've opted in to appear on the public leaderboard.
Gameplay data. We store your daily results (which question you reached, whether you won), your current and best streak, and — only for friends-room collision checks — a normalised version of the answers you submitted. We never store or reveal your literal guesses to other players; rooms only show who has already answered a question, not what they said.
Technical data. We do not currently use any third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes (for example, to measure how the app is used or to serve ads to free users), we will update this policy first and offer the same choices described below.
2. Who processes your data
We use Clerk (authentication) and Convex (database and backend hosting) as data processors. Both may store data outside your country of residence; each maintains its own security and compliance programme. We do not sell your personal data to anyone, ever.
3. Why we process it
To run the game (track your streak, validate answers, show you tomorrow's state), to operate the optional public leaderboard and friends rooms you choose to join, and to provide customer support if you contact us. We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal effects.
4. Your choices and rights
- The leaderboard is opt-in and off by default — toggle it anytime from your Profile.
- You can change your display name anytime from your Profile.
- You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data by emailing legal@happyoperators.com. We'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (for EU/UK residents, generally one month under GDPR).
- If you believe we've mishandled your data, you can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
5. Data retention
We keep account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (email us to request this), we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal or accounting reasons.
6. Children
Uniko is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
7. Changes to this policy
We'll post any material changes here and update the date above. Continued use of Uniko after a change means you accept the update.
